Scope of our content
Everything published on Kanoon-AI — law explainers, rights guides, court filing guides and AI answers — is general legal information about Indian law. It is not legal advice, it is not tailored to your facts, and reading it does not create a lawyer-client relationship with Kanoon-AI or anyone associated with it.
How content is produced
- Content is written and maintained by the Kanoon-AI Editorial Team.
- Drafting and summarisation may be AI-assisted. AI output can be incomplete or wrong, so we keep explanations at a general level and point you to the primary source.
- We do not claim that a practising advocate has reviewed each page. Where a page has not been independently verified, we say so on the page itself.
Sources
We work from official and authoritative material: bare Acts on India Code, notifications from the Legislative Department, judgments published by the Supreme Court of India and the High Courts, and procedural information from eCourts Services. We do not reproduce headnotes or copyrighted commentary from other publishers.
Updates and dating
We show a “Last updated” date only where we hold an explicit, recorded update date for that page. We do not generate an update date automatically, because an automatic date would give a false impression of freshness. Where no date is shown, treat the page as undated general information and check the primary source.
Corrections
If you find an error — a wrong section number, an outdated procedure, a broken source link — please tell us through our Report an error form. We review correction reports, fix what is wrong, and remove content we cannot verify.
Limitations you should assume
- Law changes; state rules, court practice and fees vary and may be out of date here.
- AI answers can miss context, misread a question, or cite imprecisely.
- We do not publish ratings, testimonials, user counts or awards we cannot evidence.
When to consult an advocate
Speak to a qualified advocate before filing or replying to anything in court, before signing a contract that matters, when a deadline or limitation period is involved, and in any criminal, matrimonial, property-title or tax dispute. Our related pages — Disclaimer, Legal Sources Policy, AI Usage Policy, Corrections Policy, Trust Center, Privacy and Terms — set out the rest of the position.
